Do you have any certifications or specialties?
I am an active member of the National Association of Home Builders, US Green Building Council, Idaho Building Contractors Association and Building Contractors Association of the Wood River Valley, for which I served as a two-term president. I am also a NAHB Certified Green Builder, Idaho Energy Star Builder and Public Works Contractor. In 2012, I was named a Top 40 Remodeler Under 40 by Professional Remodeler magazine.
What kinds of construction are you involved with?
We take on a wide-range of building projects. In just the last few years, Lloyd Construction has built intricate custom homes and new commercial buildings, remodeled lakefront cabins, completed extensive home and office remodels throughout the valley and handled local Public Works projects for the cities of Ketchum and Sun Valley, Mountain Rides, and Blaine County School District.
Is there a particular project that you are most proud of?
I have had the privilege remodeling numerous historical cabins between Ketchum and Stanley. It is an honor to be trusted with structures that have been passed down from generation to generation, and to be a part of their continued history. I love both the challenge of preserving each cabin’s unique character and also discovering old treasures behind each wall.
What do you enjoy most about your business?
I enjoy the process of creating something, from early concept and design to finished product, and of course the lasting friendships that we form with our clients.
What makes the difference between a good house and a great house?
I know we’ve built a great house when the finished product is exactly what the owners envisioned and when the house fully reflects their personalities.
Who are your heroes?
My heroes are my father and my two sons, as they all seem to seek out and find the most excitement and joy out of life.
