WHAT SERVICES DO YOU OFFER?

Architectural design and full-service interior design for resort, residential, and commercial projects from concept to installation of products.

WHAT GEOGRAPHIC AREAS DO YOU SERVE?

We are based in three locations with offices and showrooms in Jackson, Wyoming, Salt Lake City, Utah, and Idaho Falls, Idaho, but we work with clients on their projects all over the world.

DO YOU HAVE ANY SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS OR SPECIALTIES?

Within our company we have team members who specialize in interior design, architecture, and kitchen design and planning. We also offer inhouse production capability, including custom millwork and kitchens, custom lighting, rugs, and furniture designs.

WHAT IS YOUR PROFESSIONAL AND EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND?

I have a BFA in interior design and I have served clients for over 30 years.

WHEN DID YOU KNOW THAT YOU WANTED TO BE A DESIGNER AND WHAT MOTIVATED YOU?

My second year in college, I changed my major from fashion design and merchandising to interior design. I realized I had a talent for it and was passionate about it. I worked for a design studio right out of school and then I started my own business.

WHAT INSPIRES YOU?

So many things—from spectacular European architecture and art to the subtle colors and textures of nature.

HOW DO YOU SEE DESIGN CHANGING IN THE NEXT 5 TO 10 YEARS?

Regrettably, in many ways, I see a quest for lower prices driving quality out of our industry. Enduring quality is the best value. Great timeless design is always in style.

WHAT PROJECT(S) ARE YOU MOST EXCITED ABOUT RIGHT NOW?

Always the ones we are currently working on. It is exciting to work with each new client because you start with a fresh approach to each project and bring something that is unique and creative, whether it be a room or a whole house.

DESCRIBE YOUR PROCESS—HOW DO YOU WORK WITH CLIENTS, CONTRACTORS, AND ARCHITECTS?

We determine the expectations of the team we are going to work with, establish the scope, budgets, and timing for the proposed project, and then we get to work. We bring a team to every project to ensure that we deliver what our client wants.

WHAT PROJECT(S) ARE YOU THE MOST PROUD OF?

All of them. We delight in satisfying clients! Our working relationships have lasted for decades in multiple projects.

WHAT MAKES THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN GOOD DESIGN AND GREAT DESIGN?

Talent, wide experience, attention to detail and scale, as well as a complete knowledge of resources.

WHAT WORD(S) DO PEOPLE USE TO DESCRIBE YOUR WORK?

Complete in every detail, and of course, beautiful! We often hear from our clients that we exceeded their greatest expectations.

WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT LIVING AND WORKING WHERE YOU DO?

Low density, open spaces, and seasons. Most clients are inspired by these same environmental qualities and results are always rewarding.

“WITH THE INCREASINGLY SOPHISTICATED TECHNOLOGIES HITTING THE MARKET, WE ARE ALWAYS SEEING THE NEED FOR HIGHLY TRAINED TECHNICIANS WHO STAY UPDATED ON THE LATEST TECHNOLOGY, PRACTICES, AND PRODUCTS.” – Drummond Ayres, Audio Video Specialists

PETE MARSIGLIO & DRUMMOND AYRES
AUDIO VIDEO SPECIALISTS

The pros at Audio Video Specialists serve the Jackson Hole area and have extensive experience with home automation. Each AVS team member comes from a background in electronics and brings a commitment to quality to each project. From dedicated studio-quality home theaters to the complete automated control of a house, AVS can upgrade your home or help advise you on integrating the right systems before you build. AVS takes pride in offering fair prices, professional installation, and most importantly, servicing the system for years after the original installation. Founder Drummond Ayres says, “It is our priority that our clients are more than satisfied with the work we do and that our clients find the systems that we install easy to use. We design and install for the way our clients use the equipment; that approach ensures that our clients use technology they have invested in.”

WHAT SERVICES DO YOU OFFER?

We work with smarthome integration, home theaters, wholehouse audio, window treatments, system design, programming, and pre-wiring, home networking, support and maintenance, upgrades, calibration, panelized lighting and retrofit lighting integration, retail sales, cameras, and so much more.

DO YOU HAVE ANY SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS OR SPECIALTIES?

We have Level 1 and Level 2 Control4 certified programmers on staff. We also have Control4 panelized lighting certified staff members and a Crestron Digital Media designer, technician, and engineer on staff. Our staff is highly trained to work with all of our product lines.

HOW DO YOU SEE YOUR FIELD CHANGING IN THE NEXT 5 TO 10 YEARS?

We have seen so much change around technology in the home over the past decade and more is certainly to come. We are seeing more attention to home automation, more “Do-It-Yourself” products, and with the increasingly sophisticated technologies hitting the market, we are always seeing the need for highly trained technicians who stay updated on the latest technology, practices, and products.

WHAT PROJECT(S) ARE YOU MOST EXCITED ABOUT RIGHT NOW?

We recently finished a high-end Control4 system that has full integration with the home. The Control4 touch panels offer integration with most subsystems through iPads and iPhones and offer full system control from one application. It’s a prime example of how smart home technology can make life simpler. Integration includes distributed audio and video, Lutron window treatments, Pentair Hot Tub, panelized lighting, heating, venting, and cooling, and Honeywell security. Remotes access all of these systems from up to 100 smart devices.

WHAT OTHER SPECIALTIES DO YOU HAVE IN-HOUSE?

We also handle patching and painting of drywall and postinstallation carpentry. We have skilled photographers, IT personnel, and networking professionals who deal with large systems.

DO YOU HAVE FAVORITE PRODUCTS YOU ARE KNOWN FOR?

We are proud of all of our lines, and we are proud to work with Control4 Home Automation, Sony XBR 4K Ultra HD televisions, and Wolf and JVC Pro 4K Ultra HD home theater projectors.

WHAT TRICKS OF THE TRADE HAVE YOU LEARNED OVER THE YEARS THAT YOU’D BE WILLING TO SHARE WITH US?

A bigger company is not always a better one. In our field, it’s not the company with the most trucks and employees that is the most successful. We have intentionally kept our team small and efficient. Each of our team members understands the importance of taking care of every client and being responsive to each client’s needs and the particularities of each project. Because we are committed to client satisfaction, client feedback always focuses on our thoroughness and how we have impeccable attention to detail.

WHAT IS THE MOST EXCITING NEW PRODUCT OR DEVELOPMENT IN YOUR FIELD?

We are pretty excited about the 4K/Ultra HDTV, the new surround-sound field Dolby Atmos, the fully connected home, and reasonably priced video distribution where all video sources can be centrally located and distributed to every television in the home.

“WHETHER IT’S A NEW-BUILD OR A REMODEL, NOTHING GIVES ME MORE SATISFACTION THAN SEEING THE HOME AND ALL THE ACCENTS/DECOR ILLUMINATED PROPERLY. ” – Andrew Romo, Jackson Moore

ANDREW ROMO
JACKSON MOORE

Tasteful, Stylish… These are some of the words you could use to describe Jackson Moore Lighting & Furniture. With a broad array of styles in stock and a beautiful showroom in the heart of downtown Jackson Hole, you are sure to find exactly what your heart desires. Featuring lighting from the typical to the most obscure! At Jackson Moore you will also find furniture such as sofas, chairs, tables, dressers, and desks. Plus a great selection of fun accessories.

WHAT SERVICES DO YOU OFFER?

I used to do actual lighting design from a blank slate. But now, time is more limited with ordering and running the store. I have scaled that back to consulting with clients about their blueprints for their new-build or remodel. I usually have them ask the architect to do a general lighting plan and then I step in and we can tweak it to properly illuminate areas where they foresee having art, or a spot where they like to relax and read, etc. and will make sure that the location and correct fixture is chosen. I also do many home consultations around the Valley. Many people have scenarios where they are lacking light in certain areas of the home…especially in log homes! With the diverse products in the market today, I work to provide the lighting needed that helps complement the interior as well as exterior of the home.

WHAT OTHER SPECIALTIES DO YOU HAVE IN-HOUSE?

With my knowledgeable staff, many clients come in to discuss their lighting issues and we can usually find a resolution…if not, I’ll head to their home. We also do repairs on table and floor lamps.

DO YOU HAVE FAVORITE PRODUCTS?

I have been using Cable Lighting quite a bit of late. Many people think it’s too contemporary but in actuality, Cable Lighting really disappears better than track, let’s say. It does also offer a cleaner look than track lighting. I have done it in many very rustic homes as well as contemporary. Usually when the client does it in one area, they decide to enhance other areas of their home with it as well.

WHAT GEOGRAPHIC AREAS DO YOU SERVE?

I have done lighting design in homes all over the country. With the internet, plans can be emailed or pictures can be sent and between the client/contractor and me, we can specify the correct product(s) for the job. I then can have the product shipped to the jobsite. I recently did a small consult for a music store in Los Angeles to illuminate the front storefront window. I can basically work with anyone, anywhere!

WHAT WORDS DO PEOPLE USE TO DESCRIBE YOUR WORK?

Passion. I’m very passionate about lighting. When my input and products have been utilized, whether it’s a new-build or a remodel, nothing gives me more satisfaction than seeing the home and all the accents/ d’ecor illuminated properly.

HOW DO YOU SEE YOUR FIELD CHANGING?

With the exciting arrival of long-life and energy-efficient LED lighting, we’ve been changing out many fixtures for clients, especially in areas that have vaulted ceilings where it is difficult to change bulbs. The other added benefit of LED is the minimal consumption of energy. Changing or retrofitting current fixtures to LED can make a dramatic reduction to the power bill! LEDs are constantly evolving so I am constantly researching through my literature or online what new and exciting things have arrived or are soon to come.

WHAT IS THE MOST EXCITING NEW DEVELOPMENT?

We are here to educate clients on their options, which are vast nowadays. Our newly designed website has almost all our manufacturers’ products except for a few that are more custom. It’s taken a long time to design and I’m pretty excited about it. It gives our clients the opportunity to shop at home and save wishlists to come back and peruse whenever they like. Our prices are directly in line with all other websites that you shop online too. www.jacksonmoore.com

HOW DID YOU GET YOUR START?

I started at Jackson Moore 20 years ago. I started out doing shipping and receiving. I then moved into the office manager position which I did for five years. We then started up the Lighting Store. At that point I was tired of doing taxes, bills, etc. and wanted more interaction with people. The owners at the time sent me to Illinois for my initial concentrated lighting training. I keep myself updated through the American Lighting Association, going to seminars or even watching webinars about areas that I need to learn more about.

WHAT DO YOU LISTEN TO WHILE YOU WORK?

I really listen to virtually every music genre. My parents had varied tastes and so that really gave me a good start developing an eclectic musical taste. I have Pandora playing on shuffle all day long with a ton of varied music. I do the same at home in hopes that my children will learn what is out there and have wellrounded musical taste.

WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT LIVING AND WORKING WHERE YOU DO?

Living in Jackson has so much for anyone with a love of the outdoors. With the varied seasons, moving from playing on the water or walking in the woods in the summer to getting out in the snow, whether it’s on the mountain or in the Park, we have it all!
