Amy Casey and Courtney St. John met in 1999 while working at the same interior design firm and immediately realized that they had many commonalities in their approach to design and lifestyle. They have complementary strengths, backgrounds, and skill sets relative to interior design, which makes Casey St. John Interiors a highly qualified, collaborative, inspired design team for any size project. Their designs are reflective of their extensive experience with architectural details, fabrics and furniture, as well as art selection. Amy and Courtney sincerely care about space and how it impacts people. Their goal is always to make the design process easy, fun and creative, but also efficient for clients.

What services do you offer?

All aspects of interior design. We offer an extensive range of services from construction drawings to paying attention to the very last detail on a pillow.

What geographic areas do you serve?

We are based in the resort areas of Colorado, but work nationally. We have recently completed a yacht renovation in Florida and two projects in the Austin area. We love being able to work with diverse architecture and styles. What is your professional and educational background? Courtney has a fine art and interior design background from Kansas University and Amy studied interior design at Parsons School of Design in New York City.

What inspires you?

We both find inspiration in art museums, traveling and working in new places, the Rocky Mountains, and our kids..

What project(s) are you most excited about right now?

We are in the beginning stages of a couple of large-scale residential projects. We love being able to take a project from the big picture items all the way through to the smallest detail.

Do you have favorite materials, fabrics, patterns, or design principles you are known for?

We love to mix it up. Natural materials—to keep things organic-mixed with clean-lined upholstered furniture, the bold use of pattern, and a splash of color as an accent. Fine art immediately elevates any room. We try to keep things sophisticated, but comfortable, without being stuffy.

What makes the difference between good design and great design?

A room can be beautiful, but if it doesn’t function, there is no point. Great design has to work.

What word(s) do people use to describe your work?

Timeless, collaborative, and inspired.

“We’ve recently completed a yacht renovation in Florida and two projects in the Austin area. We love being
able to work with diverse architecture and styles, and try to keep things sophisticated, but comforatble, without being stuffy.”

What do you enjoy most about helping people create a home or business that reflects their lifestyle?

We are all about lifestyle and helping people create a beautiful and functional place where memories and traditions are created. We really try to listen to the details of how our clients live and incorporate that into the interior design.

If you weren’t an interior designer, what would you be doing?

It wouldn’t surprise us if we were working together at our own flower shop, living on a ranch, or skiing every day.

Do you have a favorite sport or recreational activity, and what do you enjoy about it?

Living in the Vail Valley, skiing is at the top of the list. Courtney also is amazing with a sewing machine, and Amy likes horseback riding and tennis.

What is sure to make you laugh?

Lately, we get a kick out of all things Jimmy Fallon.

What’s on the top of your list as a great getaway?

We’re pretty diverse in our travel tastes… how about a weekend on a boat off the coast of Seattle, or a fun food and music weekend in New Orleans? We’ll take either.
