Hidden in Plain Sight

“Hidden tech is such a trend right now. People want the really good sound, but don’t want big speakers and subwoofers looming in the room. There are a variety of ways that we can provide our clients with the great experience they are looking for without cluttering their space.”

Spending more time at home than ever, many people today want a premier entertainment experience within their own house. Giant screen, incredible picture, fantastic sound—but it doesn’t have to dominate the living room wall. Not only can the experts at Omega Media Solutions bring a home’s audio/visual capabilities to the next level, but they can also ensure that the technology is beautifully hidden from sight.

“There are some really amazing products on the market right now,” says Matt Haferkamp, owner of Omega Media Solutions. “Hidden tech is such a trend right now. People want the really good sound, but don’t want big speakers and subwoofers looming in the room. There are a variety of ways that we can provide our clients with the great experience they are looking for without cluttering their space.”

One of the hottest products filling this need according to Matt is The Frame, a cutting-edge TV from Samsung. When not in use, the TV can appear to be a beautifully framed piece of art. With a variety of bezel colors, a zero-gap wall mount, and a digital collection of images to display, the TV puts on a clever disguise.

“The Frame TV allows the owner to choose from a database of thousands of pieces of artwork and upon first glance, you would never know that rather than a framed painting, it’s actually a TV,” explains Matt. “We have one hanging in our showroom that rotates images, and clients are constantly shocked, asking, ‘Did that picture on the wall over there just change?’ It’s so incredibly sophisticated and realistic. The images are specifically optimized to fit The Frame. The viewer needs to be inches away to be able to realize they are looking at a TV.”

In power-saving mode, The Frame TV can be programmed to enter art mode only when a person enters the room, making it energy-efficient. To complete the experience, Matt often pairs the TV with a Leon FrameBar speaker. Custom-made to complement The Frame TV, the speaker offers designer color options and is made to the exact width of the TV. It is skillfully mounted to the wall to complete the art illusion and provide a high-quality sound experience.

“Installing these products gives you artwork, television, and sound all in one system,” adds Matt. “Rather than just having a black screen taking up space on your wall, you can now have something interesting and engaging to look at even when you aren’t watching TV. Plus, you aren’t committed to one image like you would be when purchasing a painting, you can have a different piece of art to look at every day, or hour, or whenever you like.”

“We want to be a full solutions provider for our clients, And that means we don’t come to the table with any preconceived ideas or sales plans. We want to find out what is most important to each client and then find creative ways to achieve their goals. We listen and deliver.”

Omega Media Solutions also offers other options for spectacular sound that is hidden from sight. Speakers from Stealth Acoustics can be placed inside walls and covered with drywall and paint just like the rest of the room, providing sound that seemingly has no source. For those music lovers that need more bass, subwoofers can be installed behind walls and still produce that deep rumble. In rooms boasting walls of glass or clutter-free walls, projectors and screens can be automatically lowered from the ceiling or pop up from built-in cabinets to be revealed for game day or movie night.

The hidden trend doesn’t just apply to TVs and speakers; even window coverings can be kept out of sight. Omega works in conjunction with architects and builders to implement solutions to conceal window coverings within ceiling cavities that can lower with a single click.

To further maximize this technology, all of these hidden devices can be operated by a single integrated home automation system. The term may sound intimidating, but the user experience is anything but. Homeowners can access their system via a smartphone app, a handheld remote, or an in-wall touch screen or any combination of the three, giving them ultimate control over their smart homes features.

Hidden technology can make a home equally functional and beautiful, and the experts at Omega Media Solutions can help homeowners achieve that perfect balance. Serving the Bend community for more than 13 years, Matt and his team provide the latest innovative tech and exceptional customer service. “We want to be a full solutions provider for our clients,” says Matt. “And that means we don’t come to the table with any preconceived ideas or sales plans. We want to find out what is most important to each client and then find creative ways to achieve their goals. We listen and deliver.”
